Following a week on the road with a successful result against Stourbridge, on Saturday EURFC face a tough opposition back at Topsham in this return fixture against Clifton.

Last weekend, EURFC put on a dominant display in the West midlands putting fifty points past their hosts in a fantastic attacking display building serious momentum with two wins on the bounce.

Exeter will need that momentum however as this week they face second place Clifton at Topsham. Whilst Topsham hasn’t quite been the fortress expected in National league two this season EURFC, will be hoping to get one back after losing to Clifton earlier in the season.

Team News:

With next Wednesday marking a return to BUCS for EURFC, head coach Rich Hodges has had to make significant changes to his starting XV for Saturday’s fixture.

In the starting forward pack there is only two changes with Tiron Bowen coming in for Milo Hallam in the second row and Luke Bralsford in for Sam Higginson at open side.

However, in the backs there are significant changes with only half back pairing Jago Bailey and Sam Walker remaining in the starting XV.

In the centre’s Zack Wimbush and Dyaln Power start. Hugo Hughes and Jonny Searle start on the wings and at fullback Harvey Graham returns.

The bench is completely fresh as well with Chris Freeman in at replacement prop and Ed Holroyd at hooker and Rob Gordon back row respectively. Orson James comes in at scrum-half and Kitan Ojo as backs replacements.

Clifton Rugby Club was formed on 27th September 1872 at the Kings Arms on Blackboy Hill in Clifton, Bristol. The pub still stands, although it was rebuilt in 1902, and since refurbishment in the late 1990's was known as Bohemia. They are the 33rd oldest club in the United Kingdom, the 22nd oldest in England, the 2nd oldest in the South West.

Clifton currently sit second in the National League 2 west table with only three losses so far this season; one of which was to Dings Crusaders who Exeter have previously beaten.

Opposition players to watch:

Will Owen – Centre. Owen is the 3rd top try scorer in the league as it stands with 11 tries. Owen will be another to pose a serious threat to the EURFC defence tomorrow afternoon.

Car: Topsham Sports Ground is located just outside of Topsham itself. Follow the A38 and pick
up signs for the A379 to Topsham.

Train: From Exeter St. David’s, connect onto any train to Exmouth, leaving the train atTopsham. The ground is approximately 10 minutes from the station by foot.

Matchday Facilities:[/b] A BBQ will be available at the ground, providing burgers and hotdogs throughout the match. No drinks will be available at Topsham Sports Ground on game day.
