Exeter's Women's 1st XV compete in the BUCS Women's National League.

The club is steeped in recent success, after winning the BUCS Women's Rugby showpiece event at Twickenham in 2018 and 2019.

During the 2021/22 season, the side went unbeaten, securing a return to the BUCS National League, as well as a National Trophy triumph, with victory over Cardiff.

On their return to the top level of BUCS rugby, the club achiveved great sucess, reaching the BUCS National League final at the StoneX. Despite losing out, reching the final first time back was a massive achievement, and something the club is looking to build on this year.

They are coached by former player Poppy Leitch, who is also the current co-captain for Exeter Chiefs Women in the Premiership Women's Rugby, having represented England U20's and England seniors so far in her career. She is assisted by fellow Chiefs player and USA Eagle Rachel Johnson.

Since the formation of Exeter Chiefs Women ahead of the 2020/21 Allianz Premier 15s season, the bond seen between the men's university rugby programme and the Chiefs has started to filter over into the women's programme as well, with a large number of the current cohort also training with Susie Appleby's side.
