2. WELLBEING SERVICES

The University Wellbeing Services on campus offer welfare support to students experiencing difficulties during their studies. The services can help you to access additional support during your studies, such as reasonable adjustments or an individual learning plan (ILP). You can also access psychological therapies such as CBT or counselling, or attend workshops and groups. To access the psychological therapies pathways, you will need to book a telephone referral appointment.

You may prefer to visit a GP to get a diagnosis or discuss treatment options such as psychological therapy or medication.

If you are accessing psychological therapies, it is good to give yourself some time before and after your appointment. Talking about the difficulties you are experiencing can be tiring or emotional, and it is important to give yourself some time both before and after an appointment to reflect or think about what you have spoken about. You may find it helpful to write down any new skills or strategies you discussed during your appointment to use if you find yourself experiencing difficulties.

If you are unhappy with your practitioner, you are able to request to see someone else. Please contact the Wellbeing reception to discuss this.
